Hercules Modular Joint (HMJ)
HERCULES Modular Joints (HMJ) are engineered to accommodate the large movement requirements of long-span bridges. The system features multi-element elastomeric seals, manufactured from high-grade extruded polychloroprene elastomer, securely retained by steel edge beams and separation beams.
Enhanced secondary watertightness, a stainless steel gutter system complete with downpipe can be incorporated into the design. In applications requiring substantial movement capacity—particularly in areas with limited installation space—swivel-type support bars are integrated into the system. For applications demanding substantial movement capacity — particularly in areas with limited installation space — swivel-type support bars are integrated into the design.
Performance Testing and verification are supported by i-Lab Testing and Research Center (i-Lab TRC), an ISO 17025:2017 accredited facility, equipped with advanced testing capabilities and competent technical engineers. I-Lab is capable of performing the 2,000,000 cycles Fatigue Cyclic Load tests to evaluate the performance and durability of the modular joint system, with a particular focus on critical welded connections.
HERCULES team of qualified and experienced engineers and technicians are also available to provide supervision during the site installation of modular joints, ensuring proper handling, alignment, and performance on-site.
